- are the external speakers connected to the correct output jack in the back of the PC?also check that Realtek is the default device:right click the speaker icon near clock and dateclick on playback devicesclick on Speakers (Realtek) then click on set default on the button above.0
- Thank you.Yes, I clicked on to REALTEK as the playback device and yes, the jack is in correctly. Before this major ipdate, I had a set of Harman Kardon speakers and these worked perfectly but were some years old. It was after the major ipdate of windows 10 that, suffenly, I couldn't get any sound from my speakers. I wasn't too bothered as I just connected my bluetooth speakers but now I need to connect new speakers.Notifier fire warden 50 user manual guide. I want to see if it IS the soundcard first before going to any unnecessary expense.
- if you are getting sound from the monitor speakers and the monitor is connect using and HDMI cable, the Realtek is not set as default Playback device (must have a green tick icon over it).0
- Thank you again. In the speaker box, I have several choices as I have bluetooth speakers, headphones etc that I can choose from. I just highlight where I want the sound to come from.In Audio manager, both my monitor speakers AND Realtek have the green tick. When I take the tick off the monitor speakers, leaving only Realtek ticked, I still get no sound. It's all very odd as this happened just before Christmas 2016, when Windows 10 did a massive update. Updates since then have not rectified it.
- ok, let's try this:http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#High Definition Audio Codecstick on Accept and then next button, download the 64 bit windows 10 drivers version and then install it.0

Sometimes its printed or stamped into a metal plate by the power lead.Nothing has helped. I have spent all week trying various things and although I can hear a tiny bit of music from the speakers now, the volume is so low you can't even make out what's playing!!I have gone through everything to increase the volume but nothing seems to help.Going on to various blogs, it seems that many Windows 10 users have experienced this problem following updates. All Microsoft is advising is, as you have here, unistalling and reinstalling the Realtek driver.Although this has worked for some, for myself and others it hasn't made any difference and the problem still persists.Thank you anyway.I'm not even sure that buying and getting someone to insert a new sound card will make any difference so I don't want to go to the expense.
- i'm sorry about your issue, maybe Microsoft will fix it in future updates.0

- Sorry I can't be much help. Only wonder if maybe it could be an XC703 or a XC705. I don't know of a 704 model. Not saying there isn't one I just haven't seen it.Maybe if you could take a Picture of the Side Panel where the label is that shows the Spec of your computer might help.I do know that the 703 and 705 take different type of ram so any help with the model would be great.James
- Accepted AnswerOk, Sorry looking up the model at Kingston and a couple other sites didn't show your computer and seeing I hadn't seen any I was confused. Based on what I have found maybe a Model from other country. With that said it looks like it comes with 2gig DDR3L Ram and is Upgradable to 8GigAlso looks like yours comes With 1 PCI Express x16 Slot. I am not sure with the PSU and with that slot if you would be able to upgrade to a different Graphics Card. GPU and size of case would put a huge limit on what could be able to fit..James

- Can someone confirm for the XC-705 what the PCIe slot version/speed is? I was told on the support site, the slot for the XC-705 is PCIe Gen3, however the slot appears to be Gen2. I'm planning to udate the BIOS to P11-B4L, but I don't have any BIOS info as to if it corrects the slot speed limit.
- Hi RegCon,
- PCIe x16 Gen 3.0
- PCIe x1 Gen2.0
- mPCIe Gen 2.0
- P11-B4L is only for Linux system.
